February Newsletter 2021

In this newsletter we discuss Business @ Sunset, website upgrades, our WIN TV advertising deal, and our committee networking in the community.

Business at Sunset

In previous years BC (Before Covid), your MBCA conducted quarterly Business @ Sunset sessions. This get together of MBCA members meets at a business premise, say at 5.30pm, and the business operator can conduct a small tour of their business.

This informal meeting allows a discussion about the business and future aspirations, over a social drink. It is amazing, some of the ideas that come out from these informal gatherings! This lowkey event concludes usually by 7pm. No business is too small or too big, so let us know if you want to host a B@S by emailing Lee or Sandy at millicentbca@gmail.com.

Website Upgrade

In late 2020, the MBCA commissioned a small contract to develop an upgrade of our website.

The website has been developed by former Secretary Amy Maynard. We are tweaking some minor changes in conjunction with other providers.

The website will be far more inviting, and will provide a Business Directory, forthcoming events (like Geltwood, Outstanding Business Awards, Lights Up) and the latest news. We look forward to trialling the new MBCA website.

Win TV Combined Advertising Campaign

The current fully booked adverts run until September, and with only 16 spots available each time, it fills quickly.

If you are interested in the next round of filming your business in a very inexpensive commercial then out your name down. $220 per month for 6 months commitment.

Out and About

Committee members Simone Berry and Darrell Looker have been visiting various businesses to meet and chat and get direct feedback on what you want from the MBCA - your business association. This discussion has been valuable, and we will be making announcements soon on this feedback.

Remember to buy local, and membership subscriptions are $100 per annum (ordinary membership) or $150 per annum (ordinary membership plus 100 tickets in the Make Millicent Magnificent Raffle).
